Getting into a bed with fresh sheets is a feeling that is hard to beat. For me, that's every Sunday late morning after the house has been cleaned and the bed stripped. A feeling that I look forward to every week.

I've always been a sucker for good quality bedding and for the longest time swore by Egyptian Cotton with 200+ thread count. The issue here is that to get good quality Egyptian Cotton you have to spent quite a bit of money, so after the first few sets I started to look for alternatives.

For the past year we have been sleeping with only linen sheets, and i've loved how relaxed they are by the fact that you don't need to iron them, making them extremely low maintenance compared to cotton. However, despite the fact that I love linen, I couldn't help but feel a little nostalgic for cotton, missing the suppleness and softness of the material. When Bedfolk recently got in touch about trying out their bedding range, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to re-kindle my love for cotton.

Gloucestershire based Nick and Jo started Bedfolk in response to their own quest to find the perfect bedding. Like me, they used to spent so much time confused about the right sheets to purchase, especially when faced with endless shelves of identical looking products (hello John Lewis...). As soon as the seed was planted about starting their own company to find a solution they spent 12 months trying to design the perfect sheets. And boy did they....

The result was 3 simple ranges; Relaxed, Classic and Luxe. I was really intrigued with the 'relaxed' collection, and of course chose the colour 'Dove' to go with my grey walls. This collection is a is a percale (one-over-one-under) weave, and incredibly soft. It has the 'undone' looks of linen, but with added softness. My first reaction was how light weight it feels; perfect for the hot London nights we've been getting and looking forward to seeing how it feels in Winter. It's more breathable than linen too and at £194 for a king size bundle, you can't really go wrong (includes: king duvet cover, deep fitted sheet and spare pillow set).

If you're not sure what style to go for, Nick and Jo can also send you some samples of the materials which is really handy. The bedding set also comes with care kit which I was pleasantly surprised about as it's an extra added little touch. As part of their brand ethos is to be environmentally friendly, it made sense for them to chose an alternative to aggressive fabric softener. The pack comes with three 100% New Zealand wool balls that you throw in the dryer at the same time as your sheets to make them fluffier and help them dry quicker. Sadly I don't have dryer so can't test it out, but it's a great concept - it shows that they care about the product that they have designed, and want to ensure that purchasers can enjoy them to their full capacity.
